  • Program Overview

  • The program focus is on the development of individuals with an interest and competence in finance. The course in Hong Kong is designed with particular focus on accounting and the role accounting plays in the world of business. The course aims to advance knowledge and skills in the closely related accountancy and legal disciplines with the purpose of providing students with a high quality, vocational and professional education. A broader education than a purely accounting qualification is however offered as students will also study a range of general business subjects which will allow accounting theory to be related to business and management theory, enabling accounting skills to be immediately useful and applicable in the business career of graduating students.

  • Duration
    • The time required to complete the program will depend on the credits transferred into the programs.
    • Students can transfer credit for up to 50% of the course into the University of Ballarat Undergraduate programs. Diplomas, Advanced Diplomas, Associate Degrees and some professional qualifications are acceptable for credit transfer.
    • With 12 units exemption, the courses can be completed for a full-time student in 9 months, a part-time student with normal study pattern in 18 months and a part-time student with accelerated study in 12 months.

  • Entry Requirement
    • Completion of Form 7 with three A-Level passes in the HKALE; or equivalent qualifications; OR
    • Non-standard entry: mature applicant with at least 5 years of work experience in the field of business, hospitality or tourism at trainee or above level.

    English proficiency requirement

    • Students will be expected to have a TOEFL of 550 or IELTS 6.0 or equivalent.

  • Each applicant must submit the following items during application:

    • Completed application form
    • Original and certified copies of certificates of educational qualifications, including a full transcript with grades
    • Employer's reference letter
    • Evidence of English Proficiency
    • Three recent passport-size photographs
    • A copy of Hong Kong Identity Card or Passport

    The University will make a decision based on the information submitted. Students who are admitted will received a written offer of admission to the program from the University.
