This conversion course is aimed at broadening and deepening the understanding and competencies gained in previous studies. The graduate of the Bachelor of Nursing (Conversion) will be expected to:
- Demonstrate a sophisticated understanding of the nature of nursing and the role of the nurse;
- Recognize the effects of cultural, social, economic, legal and ethical influences on the development of the nursing profession;
- Discuss the concept of professionalisation in relation to nursing;
- Critically evaluate the nursing literature;
- Display readiness for positive change and technological innovation;
- Offer leadership to less experienced and/or qualified members of the nursing team;
- Demonstrate competencies that will enable the graduate nurse to accept responsibility for a more complex level of patient/client management; and
- Evaluate and apply as appropriate, significant concepts drawn from nursing theory and research to a specific clinical context.

The Bachelor of Nursing (Conversion) is designed as a top-up program for Registered Nurses.
It is a 24 credit points program that consists entirely of coursework. Each subject has 6 credit points.

The program consists of TWO semesters which are normally studied around EIGHT month on a part-time basis. Each semester which covers TWO subjects will be conducted through an offshore Intensive Seminar block lecture schedule, fully taught by UoW Faculty members.

- Entry Requirement

To qualify for entry to the program, applicants must be a Registered Nurse in Hong Kong SAR having completed a nursing qualification of 3 years duration. Applicants must also satisfy the English Language Requirement of 6.5 IELTS score or equivalent. English Language instruction and IELTS test preparation is available.

- Application Procedure

Each applicant must submit the following items during application:
- Completed application form
- Two certified true copies of academic qualifications and official transcripts
- Two copies of Nurse Registration Certificate
- Resume
- Two recent passport-size photographs
- Application Fee of the Program
The University will make a decision based on the information submitted. Students who are admitted will received a written offer of admission to the program from the University.
