This conversion course is aimed at broadening and deepening the understanding and competencies gained in previous studies. The graduate of the Bachelor of Nursing (Conversion) will be expected to:
| Demonstrate a sophisticated understanding of the nature of nursing and the role of the nurse; |
| Recognize the effects of cultural, social, economic, legal and ethical influences on the development of the nursing profession; |
| Discuss the concept of professionalisation in relation to nursing; |
| Critically evaluate the nursing literature; |
| Display readiness for positive change and technological innovation; |
| Offer leadership to less experienced and/or qualified members of the nursing team; |
| Demonstrate competencies that will enable the graduate nurse to accept responsibility for a more complex level of patient/client management; and |
| Evaluate and apply as appropriate, significant concepts drawn from nursing theory and research to a specific clinical context. |
